Hopeful adoptive parents Courtney and Craig from MissouriBefore you choose your baby’s parents, you can speak with several hopeful adoptive parents. Sometimes, it’s nice to just get a bit more info to understand who they are and what they’re about.

I recently had the opportunity to interview hopeful adoptive parents Craig and Courtney from Missouri. So, I asked them some fun questions that you won’t find in their adoption profile.

I learned that they are a warm, fun couple who are excited to start their family through adoption! As they put it, “Our number one priority is to be the very best parents we can be, and to always honor you through this process.”

1. What are three words your friends would use to describe each of you?

Courtney: Honest, creative, and loving.

Craig: Caring, handy, and funny.

2. What is something from your childhood that you want to make sure your child has or gets to experience?

Courtney: We always took family vacations every year and experienced new places. I think that’s something I want to continue so that my children can experience the world and all its cultures.

Craig: I loved playing sports, and my family was always supportive and my biggest fans. I want to be our future children’s biggest cheerleader, just like my parents were for me.

3. As parents, what is something specific you want to teach your child?

Courtney: I want to teach my children that they can do what they put their mind to and that if they start something, they see it through and give it 100%.

Craig: I want to teach my kids to be self-reliant and that hard work is what is most important whenever you’re going for your goals.

4. Aside from necessities, what one thing could you not go a day without?

Courtney: I can’t go without my phone because I call my mom, my brother, my bestie, and my grandparents every day on my way to work and on my way home. Those conversations bring me more joy than words can explain.

Craig: I couldn’t go without our gym in our house. Working out allows me to clear my mind and start each day off by taking care of myself.

5. What is your greatest accomplishment so far?

We’ve worked really hard to further our careers so that we can financially prepare for future children. We feel proud that we have careers that will allow us to give our future kids the experiences and opportunities to grow and flourish into who they are meant to be.
