We are grateful that you are taking the time to learn about us and our family. We look forward to starting a relationship with you where we can get to know each other better and have ongoing contact in whatever way is comfortable. We are both passionately curious and love to spend time together discovering new things, playing games, listening to music, and experiencing new kinds of food. We are thrilled to become first-time parents and sharing our love and lives with a child.

About Us

We met in 2005 and were married a year later in 2006. Our love for each other grows deeper every day and after 17 years of marriage, we continue to flourish. We enjoy spending time together and especially like watching sports, going to museums, playing games, hiking, and curling up to watch a movie with each other. When we looked to start our family we soon learned we were unable to do so. It was not long after learning this that we developed a heart for foster care and brought several beautiful children into our home. Pouring love into them taught us how much we LOVE to be parents! We know adding to our family through open adoption is what we are called to do. We are thrilled to adopt and look forward to art projects, cooking sessions, picnics, family visits, and cherishing every moments with your child.

My Husband Adam

Mary says: Adam is a Clinical Psychologist and the most generous person I know. He invests his time, money, energy, and effort in the people around him. He helps everyone around him grow in strength, confidence, and peace. Even through the incredible storms of life, Adam is thoughtful, gentle, and decisive, especially when it benefits the people he loves. He is brilliant, hardworking, fun to be around, and has a passion for learning that leads him to seek out information on all manner of topics. He loves reading, playing golf, listening to music, and building with Lego. I know he will be a patient and attentive father who will teach our child all kinds of things like how to play different instruments and how to treat people with respect and kindness.

My Wife Mary

Adam says: Mary is a passionate person, and that passion shows in whatever she is doing. Some of her passions are cooking, hockey, playing with our dogs, reading classic novels, and gardening. Mary is beautiful, extremely smart, generous, and loves sports as well as horses. For work, she manages the quality of programs at a mental health facility to ensure they are providing the best care possible for their clients. She is an especially hard worker for the benefit of others, which I deeply admire. Mary is incredibly thoughtful and puts thought into her gifts to others, especially her homemade ones which are the kinds that are treasured forever. She is excited to teach our child how to cook and be a strong, educated person.

Our Home in North Carolina

We share our 5-bedroom home with our three dogs (Misha, Twain, and Olivia). Misha is our 15-year-old lady who’s been with us for more than a decade, Twain is our gentle, goofy buddy, and Olivia is our 1-year-old brilliant, love pup. All three are sweet and love people of all ages. We love having our families come over to visit and we all enjoy sitting in the shade of the trees on our property while swinging and sipping warm beverages on our large screened-in porch. Our neighborhood is quiet, and we have many parks in the area to choose from for outdoor activities. It is also a great place to walk, which we do almost daily with our dogs. We have a nursery/bedroom all set up and we have a playroom ready to go with toys for all ages.

Our Family

We have BIG, loud, loving family! Adam has 3 siblings who live throughout the US and Canada. Mary has one sibling who has 10 kids! We are blessed to have both sets of our parents in our lives, and they are EXTREMELY excited to welcome our child to the family. We are very close to our families and travel to see them when we can. With Adam’s family, we love to go shopping at thrift stores together. We also love to play games of ALL kinds. When we visit with Mary’s family it’s all about sitting together talking, joking, and eating good food.

Our Promise

We promise that we will love your child deeply and provide them with a rich stimulating environment to learn, develop curiosity, and succeed in whatever they are meant to do. We will read lots of books together, teach them how to cook, take them to ride horses, and help them learn how to drive…eventually. We will teach your child about God and the love you have for them. We look forward to learning more and build a relationship with you. We will invest ourselves fully in your child’s development and promise to teach them, explore with them, laugh with them, cry with them, and encourage them. We will be grateful for each moment spent together and promise to be the best parents we can be!
