Hello,

We are Ethan and Erin. Thank you for taking the time to learn more about us. We are very active people and enjoy hiking, yoga, and jogging. We also love to spend time on the couch just reading books or binge-watching our favorite tv shows and movies. We are so excited to be adopting and to welcome your child of any race into our family! We hope our story will give you a good look into our lives. Please know that we wish you and your child all the best and look forward to getting to know you.

About Us

We met in 2014, both teaching at the same school. We bonded over Harry Potter and Star Wars. Now we've been happily married 5 years and we're excited to adopt our first child. Raising a family has been a dream for both of us and, after going through a failed IVF process, we've been unable to have a child biologically.  Our story has led us to adoption and we're so ready and excited to grow our family this way.

We lead fairly normal lives. We go to work as teachers during the school year, come home, cook dinner, and talk about our day. We spend the weekends doing chores, running errands, or going on hiking trips and hanging out with friends. We also enjoy spending our time reading, spending time with our cats, and going on day and overnight trips.

We are looking forward to being parents and are excited to be a part of shaping our child as they grow and learn. We look forward to sharing our love of books and hiking and look forward to helping them grow up to be a happy, helpful, and respectful person.

About Ethan

Ethan has a big heart, both personally and professionally. He strives to be there for everybody. He is trustworthy, committed, loyal, funny, and makes our marriage a priority. Ethan loves to read books, watch and critique movies and history, and loves to hike and be outdoors. Ethan goes for runs and bike rides at least twice a week.

Ethan teaches 7th grade Social Studies. As a teacher, he truly cares about each and every one of his students. He gets to see them grow up, make accomplishments in life, and graduate high school. He finds teaching very rewarding!

Ethan is looking forward to passing on his love of literature, football, and history to our child. He will be a steady role model to our child, there for him or her in every way.

About Erin

Erin is compassionate, positive, and supportive. She is a good listener and always puts family first. Erin is an avid hiker and loves yoga, reading mysteries, science fiction, action, supernatural, and physiological thrillers. She is also a published author!

Erin was a classroom teacher for 10 years. She is now working as an English Language teacher for kindergarteners to fifth-grade students who are learning English as their second language. Erin enjoys having a smaller group of students to help, giving them her full attention and watching them learn.

As a mother, Erin will teach our child to respect others and pass on her love of books and problem-solving abilities. She will be a devoted, loving mom!

Our Family

Ethan has two younger brothers and Erin is an only child. Ethan has family in Florida, Colorado, and Pennsylvania, which makes for taking fun family trips. On Ethan's side there is already one grandchild; on Erin's side our child will be the first grandchild (her parents are so excited!). Both sides of our family are thrilled that we want to adopt.

We love getting together with our parents any chance we get. The family visits us at least once a year, and in between trips we keep in touch with phone calls, emails, and video chats. Christmas and Thanksgiving are always spent with family and good food!

Our Home in Arizona

We have a single-story, three-bedroom home with a large backyard. One room has been cleaned out for the nursery, and we are excited to decorate it. It's been fun to start preparing for our future baby!

We live in a family-oriented neighborhood with parks and several walking trails that we enjoy. There are two local schools near our home, and our small town is within an hour's drive from several larger towns, museums, cultural festivals, and a multitude of other things to do.

Our Promise to You

We have always dreamed about being parents and raising a child in our loving home! We will work hand-in-hand to help our child grow up with confidence, support, and opportunities to grow and learn. We are looking forward to taking this journey. If you're comfortable, we would love to get to know you and hear about the life you want for your child.

We’d love to talk or answer any of your questions. To learn more about us, please call or text Lifetime at 1.800.923.6784.

Sincerely, Ethan and Erin

More About Our Family

Yearly Traditions

• Our anniversary trip to Flagstaff, where we got married
• The Hot Chocolate Run (we've been doing the 5k for three years and are working on being able to run the 15k!)
• Visiting family in Colorado every summer.
• Being a host home for our church's Halloweenie Zones: Families from all over our city grill hot dogs, hand out candy and invite families to our church on Halloween. It is always great fun!
• Christmas and Thanksgiving are always spent with family and good food!
• Going for a hike every New Year's Day

Our Faith

God is our guide and rock, and we rely on Him in all things. We attend church regularly and have a supportive life group. We enjoy volunteering at our church too; we're both church greeters, Ethan is also an usher, and Erin is a media tech.

A Week in Our Lives

Being teachers, we both have summers off, and they are often laid back. We like to take the mornings slow, read, and go for day or overnight trips together. During the summer, Erin also works on her children's book series.

During the school year, we are up early to workout (yoga, running, or weightlifting) and have breakfast before work. After our classes, we are usually home between 4-5; Erin will make us a home-cooked meal, and sometimes Ethan will grill or make pasta. Most evenings we like to talk, eat, read, and watch our favorite tv shows. Sometimes we go back to the school to help with special events. Friday nights are date nights and the weekends are when we do errands and big chores like deep cleaning, yard work, and laundry.

Our Pets

We have five female cats who are great with people. The oldest, Padme, is the queen of the house and loves affection. Next is Patches, our calico who likes to sleep on our desks and in closets. Then there are the sisters, Hally and Cuddles, two sweeties who were rescued when Erin and her mom found them as kittens in the street years ago. Ethan got our last cat, Perry, from a teacher friend. She loves to roll around on carpets and is a true lap cat.

In Closing

We have always dreamed about being parents and having a child to raise in a loving home! We are very exciting to be adopting and have so much love to share with your child as we expand our family. We look forward to sharing with him/ her our passions and interests all while supporting them as they find their own. We are open to ongoing contact with you, if that's something you want in our connection. Thank you for taking the time to read about us for for considering us for your child. We're excited to learn more about you and speak with you soon
