Hello from North Carolina!
We are Wade and Ayla and are excited to introduce our family and home to you. As a couple, we hold our Christian faith at the center of our lives. We believe all people are made in the image of God, and because they are made in His image, they are adopted as His sons and daughters. We have not tried to have biological children because we have felt called to adopt. We are thrilled to grow our family through adoption and share our passion for God and being outdoors! We love to hike in the mountains, run from waves at the beach, and explore fields and forests. Together, we look forward to sharing all of our adventures with your child.
Our Story
We are high school sweethearts and have been married for 7 years now. As a young family, we try to be as active as possible. Most of that activity comes from our love for the outdoors- be it hiking, swimming, or fishing! We simply enjoy getting out and seeing the world. We live in North Carolina and are about 3 hours from the mountains and 2 hours from the beach. We try to go to both places as much as possible. Our love for the outdoors is something we are excited to share with your child. We look forward to teaching them about plants and animals, the freedom of wide-open spaces, and the relaxing qualities of fresh mountain air.
About Ayla (By Wade)
Ayla currently works in digital marketing. She really enjoys her work but eventually plans to be a full-time stay-at-home mom. Ayla’s thoughtful and selfless heart keeps me grounded and thinking of others first. She is organized, hospitable, and she prides herself on making our home as warm and welcoming as possible. She enjoys gardening in our backyard and cooking for and entertaining friends and family. She volunteers in the children’s ministry at our church and is a natural with children. I know she will be an excellent mom who will teach, care for and love our child dearly. Ayla is most looking forward to showing our child the world and exploring with them, picking strawberries in the Spring, riding horses, and mixing up batches of cookies.
About Wade (By Ayla)
Wade works in agriculture, helping farmers to better utilize technology to make their farms more profitable and sustainable. He is most in his element when he is outdoors- whether he is building and woodworking, fishing, hunting, or hiking. I admire that he always approaches challenges with patience and perspective. He doesn’t take himself too seriously and is so great at living in the moment. These are qualities that will make him a fantastic father that is both present and patient. He is most looking forward to taking our child on camping, hiking, and fishing trips, as well as teaching them the skills to build and fix things.
Our Home in North Carolina
Our current single-story home is on an acre of land in an established community. We love using all of that extra space for gardening, playing with our dog Dixie, and hosting our friends and family.
We have done a fair amount of renovation to our home. One of our favorite updates is our new kitchen, where Ayla loves to cook. We really enjoy food, both homemade and while traveling. Many of our family memories have been made around the table, and are so excited to share all that good food and laughter with a child.
Our Friends and Family
Our families are such a blessing in our lives. Our parents and siblings are so excited about our adoption and look forward to including a child in our family traditions. Ayla’s parents are most excited to help a child learn how to ride a horse and Wade’s parents are looking forward to doing arts and crafts with them.
We also have been blessed to find a church we love. We value the relationships that we have made there. They have walked alongside us in both joys and sorrows, and we know that they will do the same for a child.
Our Promise
We would be honored to welcome your child into our home and promise to raise them to be confident and independent individuals that know that they are loved, valued, and capable. We will strive to teach them the value of integrity and hard work; and that a job well done should be balanced with respect and care for those around them. | Faith | Our Christian faith is central to our lives. Both of us strive to grow our personal relationships with Jesus Christ. We also go to a non-denominational church together at least once a week. There, Ayla volunteers in the children's ministry teaching lessons and playing games with 3-5 year old's. We want our church and church community to be a big part of our child's life to help teach them how loved they are by their Creator. | |
| Music | Primarily we listen to Christian Music, Classic Country, Southern Rock, and Soft Rock. When it comes to music we tend to have old souls and gravitate to the classics. | Pet | We have a 8 year old Chocolate Lab named Dixie. Dixie LOVES people. Her favorite activities are playing fetch, squeaking toys, and cuddling. We spent a lot of time training Dixie as a puppy so she is very well behaved and always ready to show off her tricks. Dixie is most excited for a kiddo to come into the home and start dropping food on the floor for her to eat. | |
