Here at Lifetime Adoption Agency, birth mothers and birth fathers are the heart and soul of what we do. These incredible women and men place their children for adoption out of great love despite the pain it causes them.
We respect these parents, and it is Lifetime’s priority to provide them with all of the support and resources they need. Keep reading to discover the reason behind Lifetime’s focus on birth parents and what it means for you and your adoption!
Birth Mother Support and Counseling
Lifetime Adoption connects birth mothers with both professional third-party counseling and peer support. The last thing we want a birth mother to feel is pressured to place her baby for adoption, and counseling can help her decide if adoption is truly right for her situation.
We want birth mothers to have the opportunity to talk with a professional counselor or a peer who has been where she is at now. Many times, receiving this help will allow her to see if adoption is the right choice for her and her child. Lifetime’s devotion to supporting birth mothers in this way causes Lifetime Adoption to have one of the lowest reclaim rates among adoption agencies across the nation.
Lifetime is Available 24/7
Our caring adoption professionals remain available to birth families 24 hours a day, seven days a week by text, email, or phone. We are here to help them with their needs, listen, and connect them with the resources they need.
Whether a woman has just found out she is pregnant, has just decided to place their baby for adoption, or is thinking about adoption for their child; Lifetime is here. Our kind coordinators never judge or make a birth mother feel anything but brave and strong.
Birth Family Engagement
Birth fathers and birth grandparents sometimes want to be involved in the adoption process too. Lifetime is pleased to work in cooperation with everyone involved in the adoption. As the saying goes, there is never too much love for a child! It can be a wonderful gift to an adopted child to have access to their birth parents and extended birth family.
Direction in Building an Adoption Plan
Once a woman decides to move forward with adoption, Lifetime works with her to determine the attributes she is looking for in her baby’s adoptive parents. We also work with her to find out what she would like the relationship with the adoptive parents to look like during her pregnancy and what type and amount of contact she would like after the adoption placement.
Then, we begin presenting her adoptive parent’s profiles that we feel would suit her and her baby and connect her to the adoptive family search online. Once a birth mother chooses adoptive parents, Lifetime will help her navigate this new relationship. We will be there for both parties, from the first phone call to a future meeting. We have vast experience in forging these relationships and will guide you throughout the process.
Referrals to Resources
Lifetime Adoption is also dedicated to providing expectant mothers with any resources they need while pregnant and after. Through our Birth Mother Blessings program, we are able to provide essential items such as household and personal care necessities, maternity clothes, and hospital bags for labor and delivery.
If a birth mother desires to further her education through attending college or vocational school after the adoption, Lifetime can direct her to a birth mother scholarship program.
What Does This Mean for Hopeful Adoptive Parents?
By now, you may be wondering what all of this means to you as hopeful adoptive parents. The birth mother who chooses you has been provided all the information and support she needs to make the adoption decision. So, any birth mother you speak with will be more confident in choosing adoption for her baby.
Lifetime Adoption helps match adoptive parents and birth parents who have comparable views of what open adoption will look like in the future. Our adoption coordinators help expectant mothers create an adoption hospital plan so that all parties know what to expect when the big day comes. And if she is placing her toddler, older child, or children for adoption, Lifetime will have a professional counselor help with the transition plan.
At Lifetime Adoption, we recognize that a successful, happy adoption only happens when all involved are confident with their decisions and satisfied with the agreed-upon arrangements.
